Reliable Non-Partisan Political Information Platforms

By Anita Ortega

Politics has influenced debates on important issues at social, economic and international level. The availability of non-partisan political information platforms makes it possible for citizens to make informed choices by presenting them with the truth. The blogs are run by independent minded individuals, institutions and experts. They seek to offer facts to the public and readers and allow them to make personal decisions.

The issues handled on independent blogs include affirmative action, death penalties, legalization of marijuana, government involvement in UN, abortion and the role of world super powers. There are discussions on euthanasia, oil drilling, gun control and legal immigration. Debates also involve school testing, management of budgets and becoming a citizen for foreigners or illegal immigrants. Economic debates include taxes on the rich and poor, minimum wages and performance based payments.

Experts analyze issues with far reaching effects including global wars and their implication on national and international economies. The civil liberties of citizens and inhabitants of war zones are explained using expert assistance. The aim is to shed light on issues that are used to justify war and examine their extent or closeness to truth. Budgetary allocations for wars and their impact on the economy and international image are expounded by experts.

The threat of terrorism and its changing face remains a mystery to many. The impact of intervention measures and the possibility of success are discussed in these forums. There are analysts helping readers to understand civilian deaths and destruction of property. Terrorism suspects and abuse of human rights during confinement have dominated this debate.

Independent bloggers glance at the past to evaluate actions and decisions made and how they have impacted on the present global environment. They seek to find value and justification for such courses. The topics that have dominated this debate include war with North Korea, the Vietnam War and missile defense. The withdrawal of troops from Iraq remains a hot topic alongside the Three Strike Law. The dividend tax cut has seen some activity over the recent past.

Electoral term limits and universal health care are the trending topics at the moment. National sales tax/value added tax is eliciting debate among financial and economic experts. The responses on same sex marriages indicate a population that is split down the middle. The debate does not appear to be dying down any time soon. Hot topics are vulnerable to misrepresentation of facts and peddling of rumors.

The presentations made on the blogs involve scrutinizing all the facts available and presenting them in a raw form for the public to make an informed decision. Presenting the merits and demerits of each issue gives an equal chance to citizens to make the right choice. It takes away the bias created by politicians and civil societies because of their own interests. Bloggers go not favor any side but as much as possible try to stick to the facts.

Non-partisan blogs are run by individuals, institutions and organizations dedicated to disbanding myths propagated by political parties. They do not hold brief for any political party. The debates are crucial in identifying the truth about issues and policies affecting populations at county, state and federal levels.
