A Bride's Guide To Picking Rhinestone Bridal Jewelry

By Michelle Harris

Picking out what you will wear on your wedding day can be fun and exciting. Many women love the idea of planning their gown and the accessories they will wear with it. Rhinestone bridal jewelry is a great option for a number of reasons. Many pieces are quite reasonably priced and can add a beautiful touch to a woman's ensemble. Here are some tips that you can use to pick pieces that are beautiful but which will not break your budget.

If you have not yet picked your gown you may want to do so before picking your jewelry. Obviously, if you have an heirloom piece that has some family history behind it you may want to reverse this order but generally you will want to decide on your dress before your accessories. That way you do not have to worry about your dress clashing or competing with the jewelry you wear.

The neckline of your gown will help you decide what necklace looks best. For example, a gown that has a high neck would not look right with a long necklace. A short choker or other style would likely look best instead. A low neckline can be more versatile in many cases.

Of course, rhinestone jewelry is not limited to necklaces. There are also earrings and bracelets that will work well with bridal outfits as well. Just remember that if you are wearing one large or ornate piece you need to balance it by reducing the size or intricacy of your other accessories. If you have too many large items you may end up looking gaudy and this is likely the opposite of the look you are going for.

Another way to wear rhinestone jewelry is in your hair. You can find clips and combs that have these beautiful stones included in the design. You may want to ask a bridal consultant which accessories will look best with your veil or, if you are not wearing a veil, which one will look well with your dress and other accessories.

Although most brides tend to use colorless stones in their jewelry you may want to add your own flare by using colored stones in your jewelry. Some brides use this as a way to incorporate the color blue while others will use the same color that the bridal party is wearing. There are many different colors of rhinestone to choose from so it should be easy to find one that works well with your color scheme.

If you do not want to wear a lot of jewelry but still want a lot of sparkle, you may want to think about adding rhinestone jewelry to your bouquet. Some women will attach a vintage piece to their bouquet while others will make an entire bouquet out of brooches or pins.

Finding these pieces is much easier than deciding on which style you will wear. For example, you may want to look in bridal salons or women's dress shops in order to find possible pieces. You can also find them in some vintage stores or upscale jewelry shops as well.
