Top 3 Lessons Shared By A Christian Executive Coach

By Bertulda Zerna

One advantage that a good Christian Executive Coach is guaranteed to possess is the ability to work with a variety of clients. This allows for a collective of wisdom as these professionals work with different executives and leaders across many different business models and niches. Following are three lessons that I have learned over my time as a Christian Executive Coach.

First, most leaders are incredibly lonely in their roles. Each of the leaders that I've worked with have spoken about how hard being on top of the proverbial food chain is. The discuss both internal and external pressures. Everyone around them is in need of something.

It is difficult for employees to fully understand the type of stress and burden that leaders tend to carry concerning those that they must lead. Leaders often feel understood while simultaneously doing everything that they possibly can to ensure that all needs are being met.

Second, a lot of leaders worry about their own competency. They must maintain and convey a strong sense of self-confidence, discernment and direction if they are to succeed. They're constantly wondering whether they're endeavors are poised for success or failure. A lot of the executives and leaders that I work with want to know whether or not people are capable of seeing through their proverbial masks.

Last, visionaries and leaders are never able to find an end. The executives that I coach are constantly setting and pursuing new goals as soon as they have accomplished their old ones. Leaders never have the chance to feel true contentment. Another iteration lies ahead and their are always new milestones and new accomplishments to make. Leaders are guaranteed to lead, this is simply what they know how to do.

One major benefit of working with a Christian executive coach is getting help in finding the perfect path for individual goals while remaining grounded and understanding that you aren't alone. Other people will face many of the same challenges that you are currently facing, albeit in different forums. Understanding this will provide sufficient confidence and assurance for keeping you moving forward.
