It was on 2012 that this kind of concept was created by Clyde Beffa, a wine director and co owner and a priest name Fr. Charlie Fermeglia. It was Clydes idea that began everything since he seeks to do something that could commemorate his late mother and that is to help individuals. Then, Fr. Charlie suddenly popped idea of having wine tasting and simply the rest is just history.
And for next six weeks, the community started to grow stronger and have made significant accomplishments. Although the first program lasted only for three hours, within that time, a lot of volunteers have made huge help to many individuals. For that, they are forever indebted and grateful for the wonderful service and for the care that they received.
Although it all began with a simple wine tasting, the founding directors have accumulated large profits which are used to run the programs. Even if the first money that was raised amounts to sixteen thousand dollars, it was able to provide healthy supper for the homeless and poor. Every Thursday evening in the Half Moon Bay, volunteers help the people receive tremendous amount of blessings.
Along the way, there are so many encounters with many people who claimed that they want to help. There will always be, of course, hard and quick lessons to learn. Despite that, bringing community closer together and helping one another builds a fun, effective and good community, allowing a chance to have a good breakfast which could feed hungry people.
With such kind of organization, plenty of poor and even hunger stricken individuals received assistance and love that helped them through difficult and daunting times. A nice weekly supper coupled with small laughter could motivate and help the hungry people in the long run.
