How To Enhance Your Progress After Emotional Intelligence Certification

By Jerry Myers

The fast paced world demands leaders who can make solid decisions in split seconds without leaving brands and organizations at a vulnerable position. Emotional intelligence certification- also referred to as EI or EQ turns you into a master of your emotions. This gives you control over what you say or do as well as your reaction to what other people send your way.

The phrase emotional intelligence has been used extensively to the point of exhaustion. Studies reveal that the most successful persons are also highly intelligent emotionally. The rating of industry captains has also been confirmed to be high EI. Most people can survive without certification. However, through awareness, your sensitivity will be awakened. Here are helpful tips.

Rate your capacity by how other persons view you. There is a lot of value in self-awareness. However, dealing with other workers and leading them requires you to understand their perspective. Specialists admit that your perspective is fundamentally different from that of others. By engaging other people, you have a chance to see the world from their angle. Closing other people out means that you will only have one perspective to base your decisions.

The statement I FEEL will make a lot of difference in conversations. Divergent views are natural in conversations and engagements. You need to win your opponent to your side. Instead of using words that appear confrontational like YOUR IDEA CANNOT WORK, express your own in form of a feeling. I FEEL THAT WE SHOULD APPROACH THE ISSUE FROM PERSPECTIVE ABC appears more calm and reconciliatory. The statement should end with your suggestion. There will be no confrontation in your idea.

Enter into the shoes of your opponent. This is a rare occurrence during arguments. However, it will give you a chance to feel how he or she is feeling. This makes it easier to understand the perspective taken by your opponent. You will enhance your idea and also appear to be inclusive in your decision making. By finding a middle ground, everyone involved buys into your idea.

Learn to take a break. Ideas lead to very heated debates. When an argument is allowed to extend, the participants become blind to facts and are led by emotions. By taking a break, you have time and an opportunity to reflect on the best approach to a situation. The pause calms you down to afford you a fresh perspective on the issue you are dealing with. The ensuing decision will be reasoned and balanced.

It will take practice and patience to master decision making. Take on the huge decisions with confidence and courage. This is an opportunity to practice. Further, do not expect to make super good decisions in a flash. It will take time until you gain confidence and also inspire other people to see things your way. With time, you will hit the peak of your EI.

Successful and lasting careers as well as decisions require constant building of emotional intelligence. As you encounter different situations, your capacity is enhanced. You also prepare for tougher and more delicate decisions in future. Review decisions made to identify a good or bad pattern and take necessary measures. Learn from other captains in your industry in order to master your skills.
