Regardless of whether you have exercised frequently or not, going on a walk or a run is an excellent technique to get your heart pumping. Your body will release a flood of chemicals that will improve your mood and you'll feel better about yourself and your situation. If nothing else, you will improve your physique and your ex will notice this when you see them again if you continue with a good exercise regimen.

Lastly, work on your self-esteem and your self-confidence. Start doing things that make you feel good. Read up on psychology and work through any problems or baggage that you may be carrying around. All of us are pretty damaged emotionally and we could all use some help in this department.
