By Beryl Dalton

If you are looking for an easier, faster and relatively cheaper method of resting your deceased in peace, then cremation may just be the choice for you. In the recent past many people are opting to travel; this path to save on money, time and conserve the environment. A burning up process only takes around two to three hours utmost and can be carried out immediately after the death of the deceased. Various Manhattan cremation funeral homes use cardboard containers and canvas bags as substitutes for wooden caskets.

Only about 15 percent of cremation services use a casket meaning that they use a less expensive cardboard container or canvas body bag. The process involves the heating up the body and container at high temperature levels that reduce them to cremains. The cremains are just a technical term for the ashes. A normal adult will yield around 5 to 7 pounds of the cremains which are grey in color.

Many funeral homes in the Manhattan city are offering this service. They either do it themselves or subcontract the services of a crematory. A point to note is that this procedure just replicates the same procedure that a buried body eventually undergoes. After years, the buried body decomposes and becomes ashes just like the burning up results.

A memorial service can be conducted with all practices related to a traditional funeral undertaken. The deceased is later taken to the crematory instead of the cemetery. The service can also come after the burning up procedure whereby in many cases it takes the form of an ash scattering ceremony. However, it is also possible to undertake the process without including any services. This is called Direct Cremation and is considered to be the most economical option to take.

If you are considering a greatly economical option, then you need not go any further. Direct cremation will just fit your exact needs. This is the most economical option available. You will be able to lay to rest the deceases immediately without even engaging the services of a morgue. This can save you a considerable amount of fees.

In this direct process, the body is collected from the point of injury and transferred to the funeral service or crematory for burning preparation. The procedure helps to remove practices such as viewing, wake or visitation which would otherwise require a body to be prepared or embalmed. The death certificate and cremation permit is completed and the deceased is ready to be cremated. Cremains are taken back to the family after 5 or 10 days.

If you wish to use a casket, it is wise to consider renting one. The casket will mainly not be used for cremating the body hence the casket will be redundant after the process. An alternative container is used like a canvas bag.

If you are interested in saving money, then it is recommended that you look around at the various Manhattan funeral homes and crematories to see which one offers lower fees. You may also consider avoiding burying the cremated remains in a cemetery since other costs like cemetery fees, cost of headstone or a grave marker may accrue.
