By Sharon Wilson

While there are several sites at which to obtain psychic readings, some are better than others. In most cases, it is important to keep in mind that most responses and returns to such request are computer generated. As such, while information might be made readily available through online tarot readings, the readings are rarely prepared by an individual.

While this is the case, those knowing what to look for with regards to the psychic arts can often assure that one is not being scammed. For, there are generally warning signs when it comes to someone scamming and pretending to be a psychic or tarot card reader. One important thing to know before going is the average cost of a reading in the area.

Most often, free readings are offered as a method to get individuals to look at a website where other materials are offered for sale. While not necessarily a scam, individuals need keep in mind that these readings are often generated by computer program rather than an individual. In fact, there are actually very few sites which can offer a personalized reading on the spot.

Anyone offering services beyond a requested card reading need be met with caution. For, if there are issues such as possessions or other supernatural experiences, then professionals dealing in those areas need be notified. In some cases, this can be a priest whom can do an exorcism or a spiritual counselor whom can assist in a real cleansing and dispersing of negative energies.

As many scammers use fear to draw in vulnerable individuals, it is important when and where possible to obtain a personal reference in relation to a reader. Also, keep in mind, especially if a first visit, that the client is the one whom should be asking the questions and not the reader. For, otherwise, the individual could just be garnering personal information to use in a scam at a later date.

As there are a number of scams in all area of the psychic arts, those having been scammed should not feel at fault. For, the individuals promoting these scams are very good at doing so. Professional psychics, card and palm readers have even been known to fall prey to scams from time to time. As such, the best thing one can to do rid the scene of these scammers is to report the fake psychics or tarot card readers when the reality comes to light.

To avoid being scammed, always watch for people fishing for personal information, a true psychic can sense the energy of a client. If someone continually asks questions rather than providing a card layout, and a reading, it is generally a scam. Remember the client asks the questions, not the reader, the reader is there to provide answers. Other signs are cold-calling, calling clients at home without invitation, or email invites to contact a website for information within a specified number of days or something bad will happen.

Some other things to look out for are readers who cold call related to an upcoming incident, or returning a phone call or mail based on pamphlets in the mail requesting someone to make contact by a specific date. For, either of these are merely schemes to get one to contact a company or individual who most likely works by the minute/hour.
