Life is so unpredictable, today you are happy and tomorrow your world is turned upside down. This are situations we don t really have control over and during this misfortunes we are bound to feel lonely. You will seek love and support to help you get over what has happened and pick up the pieces so that you can carry on with your life. Thing is, you are not really alone, there is someone out there if not more people who are going through the same thing as you or even worse. Seek support so that you can rise above that terrible life experience by joining a therapy group because rape doesnt define me.

Group therapy presents an opportunity to build relationship. Since you will be spending time with other members you need to learn to trust them so that you can talk openly without fear or intimidation. The support offered will help you recovery and see life in a different perspective. Listening to other people s stories will empower to enrich you re your life.

They say sharing is caring, the more you share you help shape other people s lives. In group therapy there s a lot of information which is shared in order to help one other. This process is beneficial because it offers emotionally and though talking. Being in the presence of other people who know exactly what you are going through shout at least give you a sense of belonging.

Cognitive behaviour, support interpersonal process and psychoeducational all form a part of group therapy which are available. They all offer different techniques to help you handle your issues heads on. Each has special features to assist those who need the support from their peers. They are there to identify the type of therapy group so that you can choose the right one for your needs.

Everyone within the group understands exactly what you re feeling and they can relate. Do not be ashamed to express your feelings because talking will help you find peace within yourselves while you inspire others. Whatever problem you re facing you will get through it with each other s support. Keep in mind that everyone is there for the same thing.

Group therapy can benefit almost everyone. Young and old people encounter different problems therefore are experiences are not the same.it does not have age restriction so if you feel like you need help you can join the group, it also gives you a chance to be socially active and ease the sense of isolation.

After attending many sessions you should start to feel better about yourself. You should be on your way back to your old self and because now you are more empowered you will be more cautious when it comes to decision making. Feeling better doesn t mean that you should stop attending the meetings, perhaps you should wait for your counsellor to give you the go ahead to avoid relapsing.

Whether you will be a part of a large or small group, your priority should be getting better. The support you will get from the group is rare to id outside so make the most of it, even when it becomes tough just keep going.
