The market is filled with many systems that are good at making sure that interior temperatures are maintained high throughout winter. High interior temperatures can be achieved using various systems available in the market. Some of those systems include furnaces, air conditioners, under-floor warming systems, and wall panel heaters. These systems perform good work, but the home should be made suitable first if high efficiency is to be achieved. Proper insulation should be done to avoid heat exchange between the interior and outside cold environment.

Ensuring leak-proof homes ensures that heat from warming systems is not spent heating the environment but interior space. One ways of achieving this is to use ceramic tiles, timber, or stones to build floors and have the walls painted or layered with insulators. Door and window treatments must also have high heat insulation capabilities. Installation of ceiling boards also helps in increasing interior temperatures through retention of warmth inside the building.

After installing proper insulation, choosing a warming system to install is the next step. This writing presents two major systems to think about. Under-floor warming basically involves changing floors into radiators. This is done through installation of either electric rugs or warm-water pipes into the floor structure. A mild heat originates from the floor and rises up as it warms the surrounding areas.

The system does not require any space for installation because it is integrated into the floor structure. Presence of programmable thermostats allows users to regulate temperatures. Users can also schedule heating activities and rooms or areas to be heated. Both old and new residences can also be fixed with these systems.

Disadvantages are that not all floors are perfectly suited for this kind of technology. Stone and ceramic tiles are the best because they conduct heat effectively. Floors made from natural timber are unsuitable because the timber may warp up if its water content is not balanced properly. Alternating contraction and expansion also makes timber not particularly compatible with this technique. Fires have also been known to result from hot spots created beneath furniture with pointed legs.

Panel heaters refer to thin cement fiber boards that are installed into walls. They work through convection technology. They generate heat on the back side and then dissipate it around the room. Their eco-friendly level is very high because they consume very little electrical energy. They also ensure safety to little kids and pets because the panels never heat up to extreme temperatures.

Paint can also be applied on the panel heaters to match interior decor. Disadvantage of these heaters is that timers are not incorporated in them. This denies users ability to schedule the heating process. Exposure to water or steam in kitchens or bathrooms can spoil them because they are not waterproof. This means that additional warming systems must be installed alongside panel heaters.
