Getting stressed is not a good thing, especially when you are still on the road to recovery after you have been addicted to some substance. If you feel stressed and you cannot manage it well, there is a higher chance for you to relapse. If you do not want that to happen, then you have to take note of some tips from the Christian drug rehabilitation centers.

First, you have to learn how to do biofeedback. This is actually a very effective way to reduce your stress. The said task involves you monitoring the body's automatic stress response. Once you are familiar with the automatic stress response of your body, you have to train yourself to control those responses.

Affirmation is another option that people can take when they do not want to relapse. Affirmation is an act that is taught to them while they are still rehabilitating at their facility. In this act, they use affirmation so that they can calm their mind. It really has an effect on that especially when people are stressed.

Journaling is also very effective when you want to manage your stress. All you have to do is write down the thoughts and emotions running through you. By writing down your thoughts and emotions, you now have a safe and healthy outlet for expressing the anxieties you have. You can write more on your fears, worries, or frustrations.

Prayers. Taking the time to pray to God is a good thing. Bonding with the Spiritual Power is a good thing because it helps you keep calm and be at peace. When you are trying to bond with the Spiritual Power, then you better set aside time every day or week for the praying session. In your prayers, you can say everything you want to say to the Almighty Father.

Exercising is highly recommended for people to follow. Better set up a routine daily to relieve the stress in the body. Doing the exercise helps maintain one's sobriety. It also helps release happy hormones called endorphins which then boost mood naturally. Exercise has many benefits people can enjoy so better set it up well.

Repair your relationship with your loved ones. Whatever relationships you care for will surely put a significant stress in your life, especially if that relationship is not in good condition. Thus, it will help you relieve yourself of your stress if you try your best at repairing your relationship with others, especially with parents, children, or spouses.

Sober living is also important. This means that you have to create the kind of environment which gives you the feeling that you are living in a safe place. You should be able to experience that kind of living in the facility where you are rehabilitating. Aim to enhance the environment at home that way too.

Relaxing is highly recommended. It may be underused by people but it is certainly very effective in calming one's nerves. It is a simple method to keep one's stressed level in tolerable level. Examples of methods that people can do to relax would be soaking in rose baths, listening to music, eating a sweet treat, or enjoying a cup of tea.
