Managing A Baptist Church Youth Ministry

By Gregory Brooks

Being assigned to lead this ministry can be a huge responsibility on your part. However, when you accept the logic that you can handle everything which would be sent your way, the steps below would begin to make sense. You are going to get strength from your own faith and be a role model to all of your constituents.

You would have to possess a deeper purpose for all the activities which one is going to come up with. Allow your Baptist Church youth ministry in Oklahoma to be welcoming yet organized at the same time. With this kind of set up, you shall be able to explain your decisions to the elders and get their approval.

You should be at your most humble when one is around these people. Be able to struck them to the point that they shall see that they are enough for the Lord. They do not boast around saying to everybody that they are a Christian. In being in that selfless service, they could grow and become the exact persons they want.

There will always be members in the group who prefer to stay in the corner and be fully involved. Their detachment may be due to very personal reasons but it is actually your job to figure that one out. Find a common ground that you will be able to share and you could make them see that they do not need to continue feeling alone.

Be true to everything that one is saying. Your constituents may be young but they already have this notion when one is just being forced to state something to their teeth. So, be a complete disciple of God before anything else. With that enforcement, you shall start to feel better about yourself and that can reflect in everything you do.

Treat the ministry as your second family because it is. When your members feel that they matter to the people around them, they will be there for the meetings regardless of their busy schedule. Again, simply inspire individuals to live more than their ordinary routine. Allow them to become a part of something bigger than this world.

Push them to share testimonies in a way that they shall not feel embarrassed about it. In that way, you are allowing them to have more confidence that shall be spread out to the other aspects of their life. This is important when they have always lived in an environment in which they are not appreciated.

Get to know their parents. Give them an assurance that their teens are safe hands. These would lead the latter to be more participative with your activities. It is really important that you encourage more people of today to bring themselves closer to the Creator. Let them have more meaning in their life.

Just have constant consultation with the Lord whenever you are in doubt with what you are about to do as a leader. Be able to conquer your own fears without showing it to everybody. This is how you will be able to keep their respect for you at this point.
