Things Worth Noting Concerning Episcopal Church Cornelius NC

By Donald Stevens

The Episcopal Church is basically a member of the Anglican Community, and has its worldwide headquarters in United States, New York. The church has been predominant in all parts of United States, since it was incepted in the 17th Century. It has remained to be among the very popular religious affiliations, hitherto. Episcopal Church Cornelius NC has been subdivided into averagely nine provinces in US, and has many dioceses stretched all over US.

Recent research clearly indicates that the denomination has a significant following, considering it is estimated to have more than two million believers globally, with a considerably high number of them being from United States, where it is predominant in close to ten provinces. More interestingly, this denomination appeared position fourteen in the list of largest denominations in United States. This is a clear indicator of how the denomination has been positively progressing.

From a general perspective, Episcopalians are seemingly people who have immense wealth, power and influence. Many of them are very highly regarded in the social circle, or also in the business front. This is contrary to other denominations, whereby there is mixed representation of people from all walks of life. Education-wise, Episcopalians are also several strides ahead, with many having varsity certifications, while others even being post-graduates.

In the recent past, the religious group under discussion, just like many other mainstream denominations, has suffered a considerable decline in terms of membership, alongside internal wrangles over ordination of women, homosexuality, and suchlike social factors. These and other factors like abortions, have stirred controversy and disagreements amongst many clergy members and followers, whereby they disagree with the doctrines and position of the leadership.

As the name suggests, Episcopal denomination, as is the case with other Anglican members, is solely governed by its Episcopal Polity, guided by its very own canon legislations. The church has been divided into dioceses across its dominant places. Every diocese is manned by a bishop. The system of administration in this denomination, clearly, is much decentralized. Today, the head of this denomination is Michael Curry, the foremost African-American bishop to ever serve in that capacity.

It is also worth noting all the various principles and doctrines that the denomination strictly adheres to and have full belief in. First and foremost, commensurate to all other Christians, Episcopalians believe in Jesus Christ. They have belief that He was specially sent by God, died and later resurrected. He is the way to eternity, to all staunch believers.

The denomination strictly is guided by the Holy Book called The Bible. They believe the Book was written by people who were under influence of Holy Spirit. The two most necessary and significant sacraments in the denomination are Holy Eucharist alongside Holy Baptism.

There are other sacraments that are also very significant to believers include confirmation, institution of marriage, unction, reconciliation of penitents, ordination among others. Believers also uphold special emphasis on Great Commandment, which is to love and serve God maximally possible, and also love others. Its stringent doctrines are what make it very popular denomination in Cornelius NC City, and beyond.
