Recommendations For African Leaders Who Get Donations For Africa

By Cynthia Snyder

Africa is one of the continents in the world. The area is blessed with several natural resources even though it still records the highest number of people living in abject poverty. To help alleviate the pitiable conditions in the land, world organizations regularly provide donations for Africa. These donations, if utilized effectively, can change a lot.

For an improved economy, electricity is highly needed. Unfortunately, several African countries are not doing well in this area. There are places you will go to and the inhabitants would be asking if there is anything like electricity. In some other places, you might only see it once or twice in several weeks. The foreign aid that is given to these countries can be used to improve on this aspect.

Tasking the leaders to provide jobs with the money they get would be fine. If much of the money is used for the good of the common man, there would be fewer cases of unemployment. This can happen by building industries, opening markets and improving the standard of education in the country.

Hunger, which is prevalent in Africa, can be solved when there is a radical change in the sector. Subsistence farming can be turned into commercial farming if the farmers are given a fraction of the foreign aid that is given to the leaders. Moreover, there are graduates everywhere with the skill and desire to farm but they are hampered by lack of funds.

The healthcare sector is another place where much work has to be done. Unfortunately, most of them receive medical treatment in foreign lands so their attention is not drawn to the poor facilities available in their countries. If they are reminded that not everyone can afford to take a flight to the developed countries let alone paying for the medical bills, it is possible that they will begin to do things the right way.

The donations sent to Africa should also be used to improve the level of sanitation in the countries. Most of the countries lack a good waste management system such that it is possible to see wastes littered all over the streets. When machines used to convert waste into wealth are acquired, this issue can be solved to a large extent.

Many African emigrants enjoy the infrastructure they see in America and Europe and wish that what they have at home could be equivalent. If the monies sent to them as donations are channeled to this course, the people will also rejoice. There would be less need for the frequent visits abroad for a holiday. Infrastructures that can make the citizens happy include good roads, availability of pipe borne water even in rural communities and equipped schools.

Since most of the contributions they get are regular, the leaders can use it to make their workforce happier by increasing their salaries. The essence is to improve on the quality of work they do and put them in a position where they can be of more help to those who depend on them for their survival. On the other hand, they may also want to use the money to employ more labor.
