Army Spouses make great sacrifices to be a better half and support our squaddies. Because of that, the army has established programs to try to help reduce the burden. Schooling Help programs are available for army spouses to keep on their schooling without all of the financial stresses that come with paying for it. This post is meant to share some of the opportunities available to us.
Although every programme is different from one another but they have similar goals. The proposed aim is to provide each spouse member with economic help in order that they can have good chances for career through education.
If you're an Army Better half or connected with one, this post is for you:
Money support for Marine and Navy Corps spouses program:STAP the Navy's Better half Teaching Help Program offers both Maine and Navy spouses who are living abroad with their military member they are granted with the facility i.e. Up to 50% of discount on the tuition for education schemes. Additionally, it's got a limit of 300 greenbacks per term plus doesn't exceed 1500 greenbacks per year. There isn't any need to attend classes for full day.
Navy Sea Corps Relief Society Administered covers full graduate program at high per term rate/per-year at the maximum.
The Air Force has their version of Navy's Better half Tuition Help Program. While alike to the Marine/Navy program, because it has got a limit of $1500 per educational year. It has got a dissimilar twist. Its primary objective is to provide partial tuition help through granting up to 50 percentages of the charges for teaching.
Armed forces Tutoring Help program:
As the Division has 2 spouse's assistance program for tuition. Where one is for the spouse's member who is stationed abroad and another one for those in the state. It completely depends on your need, the Overseas Partner Education Assistance Programme (OSEAP) backed education should be finished while the partner is living abroad with her or his military member. Overseas Partner Education Help Programme always gives 1/2 the tuition fee i.e. Up to $540 per term or $2700 per year.
The Stateside Better half Education Assistance Program (SEAP) is just like OSEAP program because it also relies upon your need. The dissimilarity, however, is that it is available only to the spouses who are:
1. Soldiers who died on duty.
2. Retired squaddies.
3. Active duty personnel stationed stateside.
4. Retired squaddies who've died.
Both programs are administered by AER (Military Emergency Relief) and cover vocational training sessions or undergraduate. Army Emergency Relief has consolidated the SEAP and OSEAP beginning with the 2012-2013 college year. You can read more about the consolidation here.
Military Partner Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) :This programme is financed by the Department of Defense (DoD), and offers tutoring assistance for a military better half chasing a career - usually in education, business administration & health services, since these jobs are usually found at pretty much every military base. Active duty spouses could apply for an award $3,000 for 2 year of school.
My main purpose for sharing this information is this: the military is changing. Budget cuts and reductions are coming. This is Not a shock tactic. When budgets get reduced, the first things to go are programs like these. Don't sleep on this thinking that 'it will invariably be there'.
