Watercolor painting has been one of the most popular forms of art ever since the ancient times as it was a way for artistic people to be able to express themselves. Of course throughout the years, there were many influential water color artists who contributed to the evolution of this art form. For those who are interested in art trivia, here is a list of some really influential ones who were able to help with the development of this particular form of art.

Albert Durer, who was a well known painter that came from Europe, was known to be one of the first people who popularized this form of art. He was actually a pioneer of this art form who lived in a time called the Renaissance period of art. People knew him because his works had a certain style that was unique to only his works.

J. M. W. Turner was an artist that was around sometime during the later part of the Renaissance period who also influenced the popularity of his art form. He heavily concentrated on works about the scenery and landscape of Europe. The best thing about his paintings were that they were extremely simple and had very light brush strokes but they were nevertheless very beautiful.

Of course anyone from England would know about the painting that is known as Whistlers Mother. This painting was done by one other than the famous painter James McNeill Whistler who made paintings of almost all of his family members. His works showcase extremely energetic strokes and very bold use of different kinds of colors that were very attractive to the eyes.

Winslow Homer was another very famous artist who was working sometime in the nineteenth century who made beautiful works on landscapes. What made him very different from the others is that he was able to teach himself how to paint and he even came up with so many different painting methods. Of course a lot of these methods are still being used by a lot of modern artists today.

In abstract art, Paul Kee was a watercolor artist that dabbled in the world of abstract painting. His favorite shape to use in has works was the cube and he painted the cube in a lot of different lights. In fact, many other modern artists still follow his style until today but make use of other types of shapes.

Edward Hopper was a painter that was born in America and also influenced this art form with his works. He made use of different and unique styles of painting light and shadows when he made works about the typical American life in a typical American day. His depiction of shadows shows how much he has studied the movement and direction of light.

In the world of watercolor painting, these are some of the names that have actually aided with the development of this type of form. These famous water color artists are known because their skills with the brush were second to none. It was because of their contribution to the art world that watercolor painting in general took off.
