Major Considerations When Buying Masonic Greeting Cards

By Alta Alexander

Words can mean a lot of different things for various occasion. That is why there is a need to be cautious about what you say especially if you are saying it in front of many people. Special events like weddings and debuts for example, have their own set of greetings that can be directeds to the people who are celebrating it.

There are many ways on how you can send your greetings. You can do it verbally or by giving gifts. Others however send special cards like the masonic greeting cards containing their message. This type of card is special not only for the masonry symbol that it has. The details found on the rest of the entire piece can also mean a lot.

While there is already a wide availability of this material both in local gift shops and online stores, there remains a number of people who use it for its symbolic meaning rather than for pure fun and entertainment. Its a significant part of their brotherhood. If you are giving this card to a mason, then be sure to look at the following considerations.

Symbol of masonry. This is the most visible and primary requirement for a masonic card. Their symbol has to be present on the card. It may be found on the front, back or the inside portion of the card. This is the ultimate identifying factor that you are giving them the card in reverence to their membership for the brotherhood.

Content of the card. Many of those ready made ones have blank sheets inside to provide you the space that you need to write something. There are those however who include some important phrase or sentence that has a corresponding significant meaning to the masons. Before selecting any, make sure that you understand the significance of the message first.

Size. This can differ depending on the need. For those who are planning to write a long message, the bigger sized cards are more appropriate. For those who are good to go with a few sentences, the smaller versions will do. It all has something to do with the need.

Relevant symbols. This refers to other logos of organizations, charities and groups that the person is affiliated to. If they are a member of an academic institution for instance, you can include the logo of the school inside it. This will add another layer of formality to the letter. Needless to say, you have to consider the positioning of those symbols to make sure that they do not destroy the entire design.

Quality of paper. There are thick papers and there are those that are thin. Some are glossy while others have rough finish. Consider the writings that you will do when you select the paper. There are those which do not really dwell good with an ordinary ink. For an intricately designed item, having a thicker paper is better.

You can always make some greeting cards by yourself. But if you want to find a good one faster, then selecting from the custom designs available online is a good way to start. Think of the design that you want and see if any of the available ones are there.
