Human Trafficking Resources CA Counseling Children

By Donna Phillips

While the slave trade involves adults and children, most often there are fewer adults. As such, most human trafficking resources CA are aimed towards younger individuals. Still, there are local and national organizations which work to counsel adults effected by the sex industry or slave trade in North America.

For, most often those working in the human trafficking industry are under the age of 18. In fact, there are more than 20,000 children which are currently working as labor and sex slaves in the United States. Most often, even if caught, it is only the masters who see justice and not the individuals or couples who have sold children into the trade. Until this changes, there can be no change for as long as children are provided, the problem will continue.

The life expectancy of those involved in the trade is very short. In fact, most often girls having been born into the trade only live to be somewhere between seven to fourteen years old. Most often, this is because once a young person becomes aware of what is going on, the slave master either kills, or has that person killed to avoid an escape or being discovered and brought to justice.

In almost all cases, these young women were born to mothers or couples who had been paid to give birth to a child only to relinquish the child to someone involved in the child sex trade. Whether to star in pornographic pictures and film, or sold for sex, most of these individuals were exposed to assault, rape, starvation, torture, false imprisonment and emotional and physical abuse on a daily basis.

One organization that of the FACESS or Freeing American Children from Exploitation and Sexual Slavery is based in California its trying to help. Whereas, there are also local organization in the State whom are working to counsel those who have broken free from these bonds. In one case, there is an escapee who has become a therapist offering assistance to others who have found a way to freedom.

As such, counseling is often a prerequisite for prevention of ongoing mental and physical illness as well as suicide. For, once having lived through such horrific conditions, especially at such a young and tender age, it can often be impossible to forget the horrors that has been placed upon oneself and others.

While some boys have been brought into the system, most often to teach the girls about sex, statistics show that the trade is 80% female, whether applying to adults or girls. As such, it is often female children whom are abducted or sold into the system. Whereas, at times the slave masters will bring in sons to work in the industry whether with or without consent of the male child.

As such, it is up to these organizations and those involved with the lost and missing to try and rescue these children. Although, without the help of the public also speaking out against these crimes and taking action, especially if seeing something out of place, there remains little hope for the salvation of those lost in the system.
