The How To Fall In Love Book Review

By Douglas Hamilton

A lot of books about suicide and the harsh reality of life have spread throughout the book market these days as people do like to read something they can relate to. One of the most well known and well loved ones would be How to Fall In Love by Cecelia Ahern. To know more a bit about this wonderful novel, take a look at this how to fall in love book review.

In the story, the protagonists are Christine and Adam meet each other when Christine stops the attempted suicide of Adam. Basically, the whole story is about Christine trying to help Adam get through his suicidal tendencies and try to convince him that life is actually a good thing and not to be wasted. The catch is that she only has until the birthday of Adam before he tries again.

In a plot twist, Christine eventually ends up having to be saved by Adam herself as Adam somehow finds meaning in his relationship with Christine. Christine also then finds more meaning in the project that they have and they both end up falling in love. Aside from that, they both try to save each other from their own respective strange thoughts.

Just to get a better idea of the characters, Christine is a self help book enthusiast who just came out from a divorce. She is the type who loves to help out people and try to encourage them to find the better in themselves. Although her failed marriage left her in a depressing situation, her project with Adam ends up as something to keep her occupied.

Adam, on the other hand, is the next generation heir of a big chocolate brand known as Basil Chocolates. Although he does not want that position, he will have to take it in the light of his dying father. At the same time, he lost his loved job and also has his long time girlfriend cheat on him. In light of all this, he meets Christine on the night he attempted suicide.

The most amazing thing about this story, although a very common plot, is the way Ahern tries to make light of everything. With some injections of humor on to the written material, Ahern tries to make the rather heavy story as reader friendly as possible. The story between the two characters as their relationship buds is by far one of the most amazing as it also mirrors what may really happen in real life.

The topics of suicide, life problems, and self help are very delicate topics to write about because they represent what really happens in real life. However, Ahern was able to get a few serious topics and create something that is enjoyable to the readers. A heartwarming story is about to unfold in this novel.

So as one may see, this is a very interesting book that most likely a lot of people would be glad to read. With its touching story of two people suffering from their own respective problems, they come together to form a strange bond that leads to something amazing. One will definitely have the feels when reading this novel.
