The Various Teachings Of The Episcopal Church In Lake Norman NC

By Joyce Graham

Religion is as old as time. Since the first humans, there has always been religion. Over the millenniums, religion has evolved. For the most part, Abraham is considered the father of faith. Christianity, Islam, and Judaism share one thing in common: Abraham. Judaism inspired Christianity to some extent. The Bible says that Christianity will spread to all the four corners of the world then the end will come. Presently, Christians are everywhere. They are in the Far East and also in the Far West. In the United States of America, some Christians are followers of the Episcopal Church in Lake Norman NC.

It is important to note that all Episcopalian teachings are based on the Bible. A true Christian believes in the supremacy of the Bible. He will not believe in any other book that contradicts the Holy Bible. That is due to the fact that Christianity is a Biblical religion. Its teachings are derived directly from the most holy book that is inspired.

The Bible is 100% true. It is an inspired book that was written over a span of many millenniums. It starts with the Book of Genesis and ends with the Book of Revelation. The Holy Bible has two major testaments. They are the Old and the New Testaments. Prophesies of the old are fulfilled in the New Testament.

A common Episcopalian teaching is concerned with the matter of sin and leaving a sinless life. It is said that all men have sinned and fallen short of glory. That does not mean that one should continue sinning. There is the need to repent of the sins that have been done and subsequently start leading a holy and clean life.

There is also the baptism teaching. Baptism is a common practice in the Christian faith. The Catholics baptize by only dipping the head in water. However, for the case of most Protestants including the Episcopalians baptism involves the whole body being immersed in a large mass of water. The whole affair can take place in a river or a lake.

A core Episcopalian teaching is the importance of prayer. Christians are required to pray on a daily basis so that they can be able to conquer the various temptations of life. Life is not an easy road. However, prayer will make the burden to be lighter. An individual can take an extra step and fast for a period of time.

Most Christian churches including the Episcopalian church normally teach about the afterlife. This is the period that comes after life. As a matter of fact, death is just temporal. There is a beautiful life that awaits the believer who leads a righteous life. It is a life in heaven. On the other hand, there is hell which is full of suffering.

Striving for physical wellness is not a bad thing. It is not immoral to be rich so long as one acquires his riches in the right manner. However, it does not profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul in hell. That is why spiritual health is the most important asset that a human being can possess.
