WWJD: Something People Should Be Asking Themselves Nowadays

By Betty Meyer

One of the most difficult things in life is acting in a way that is admirable and that our Lord would be proud of. Without having a question like, "What would Jesus do?" to fall back on, it is easy to get caught up in negative emotions and even fall into sin. There are so many ways in which the WWJD crazy has helped many people live fuller and happier lives.

It was in the 90s in the US where people first started saying, "What would Jesus do?" and it quickly became a national trend. From there, it spread to other countries, and soon people all over the world were asking the question. The reason, of course, was because so many people felt very strongly about what it meant to them.

Behind this seemingly simple question is a very powerful idea that can help drive good deeds and thoughts in any Christian. By asking what Jesus would do, the person will raise their own personal standards to the highest possible heights. This is because according to Christianity, Jesus is the ideal and perfect man, and so thinking about what he would do in any situation you're presented with can help you live a better life.

When a person has this question put on a bracelet or any other accessory, it makes it very easy for them and others to see the question and ask themselves what it truly means to them. Making accessories like these can be a fun way to get a youth group feeling united. It also makes it so everyone always has something to talk about.

One of the great qualities that Jesus had was patience. There were so many cases in the Bible when he could have given up both on himself and his people, but he persevered and saved mankind. Everyone can benefit from having a little patience, and it is something that has to be worked on over a long period of time.

Sometimes the hardest thing about acting in a more Christ-like way is people's tendency to react too quickly. A good practice is to take a few deep breaths before responding. It's amazing how much good this can do.

It is hard not to feel guilty when you do or say something that God wouldn't approve of. While it is often easy to identify these things in retrospect, in the moment, it can be much more of a difficult thing. One of the ways a person can improve their lives is by carefully looking at every single aspect and not leaving a single thing out.

There is no better feeling than fully letting Christ into your life. He can guide you through all of life's difficulties, and you'll be on a fast track to a great life. It's amazing how acting the way Jesus would becomes easier and easier the more you practice it, like strengthening a muscle, and the benefits just keep getting clearer and clearer the longer you follow God.
