By Daniel Anderson

As an adult, the average person is exposed to a lot of stress and chaos in their lives. There are times when a person will have to deal with anxiety based on their work environment or because of what is going on at home. The amount of stress one has to cope with will vary from one person to the next. Part of this has to do with how one is able to manage with it. It also depends on what one has been through in the past. There are underlying emotions and feelings which one sometimes experiences. Inner child healing techniques or other methods are one way of dealing with this.

Most adults who have to focus on these types of techniques have either been abandoned as a child or neglected. They may have been physically or sexually abused. When a child has been emotionally abused, they will grow up being fearful of many things in life. They will be more anxious.

In order to heal from this, it is necessary to look into some of the techniques which will reduce the anxiety. They need to go back to their childhood which very often they did not experience at all. A lot of individuals will begin by writing a letter to their inner child, which can be a type of apology that tells connects with them.

To find out more about their inner emotions and the childhood that they never experienced, it is a good idea to experience some of the elements which the average child goes through. These can be creative activities that give one joy. It can relate to arts and crafts, painting and drawing, dancing or learning a new musical instruments.

One often feels that they have to do things a particular way in order to fit into society or to do a certain job. However, it can be pressurized and when you have come from a background which is dysfunctional, it can be even more problematic.

This kind of thing is even more tense for someone who has been abandoned or neglected. Children who grow up with a lot of fear or those kids who have been criticized will be anxious. Therapists will suggest that the individual begin slowly by writing a letter to their inner child. It can be difficult to jump right into the deep end. Many people feel that this is strange, but a simple letter will help the person to get going.

The letter can include how one is feeling at the present state. Most people will have an imagination, coupled with how they remember their childhood years. They begin to connect with the child which they left behind and how they wish they were able to be there as a youngster, having a normal childhood.

This is one of the most essential ingredients during the process. Most people at this time will have trouble expressing themselves. They need to feel confident that they are at least in a safe space. Many people will learn about the inner voice and an intuition that they possess.
