How To Teach Students Through Christian Education Principles For Teachers

Teaching is a fulfilling career because not only does it provide opportunities for personal growth, it also allows a teacher to make a difference in the life of the child. To be an effective educator, it is best to incorporate Christian education principles for teachers at every stage of designing and implementing the lesson with the students. Here are some tips.

A good teacher should start with understanding the needs of his students. Usually, this is easily seen through the questions that they raise and their performance in aptitude tests. The educator should also follow the lesson schedule from the principal or the district. Taking these two factors into consideration should help him determine what to tackle for the following lessons.

To create a lesson plan from scratch, the educator should have a deep understanding of the subject. He should use various resources as references and observe which how the topic has been discussed in each one. He can use this as a guide in creating his own lesson while taking into consideration the behaviors and needs of his learners. Digital materials are great references on a lot of subjects.

When designing the lesson plan, various resources can be useful in coming up with several unique examples for the topic. Make sure that the discussions are properly spaced so that complicated topics are being taught in chunks to make them easier to comprehend. Do not forget to include guide questions and quizzes to check for understanding. A facilitator guide will help you go through the lessons within your timetable.

To make learning fun for the learners, games and other fun activities should be incorporated into the lessons. Role plays and group work can help them become more creative as they implement what they have learned. Educators can include games at the beginning of the lesson as introduction to the topic, or in the middle or at the end as a form of assessment. Games that are not related to the subjects can be used from time to time since they also help in holistic development.

A teacher should be sensitive to learning challenges of the group and of each individual. If the difficulty in understanding the subject is observable in almost everyone in the class, it may mean that the lesson structure does not suit the learning capabilities of the group. It may be necessary to modify the materials for better comprehension. Individual challenges should be dealt on a case to case basis and should be done in a manner that will not embarrass the learner.

Learning should not just end within the classroom. Give meaningful assignments and projects that will reinforce learning outside the classroom. For difficult concepts, such as math, chemistry or physics, explain to your students how these concepts can be applied in daily life or in business.
