Benefits Of Cacao Tea To Your Health

When making chocolate from cocoa beans the shell is a byproduct. This shell or husk is not a waste as it is used to make cacao tea. This tea is widely used in many parts of the world with highest numbers of users in Africa. It has many health benefits for the users.

Vitamins and minerals; there are many minerals and vitamins in it. Our bodies need vitamins C and E which cocoa has in plenty. The husk has many minerals essential for our body functions such as potassium, magnesium, copper and iron. Iron is need in the body for making blood cells and calcium is needed for healthy and strong bone formation and structure.

Heart health; minerals found in the cocoa help in keeping your heart health. Magnesium will keep blood flowing due to increase in heart functions from it. To survive our body needs oxygen, copper increases chances of blood cells receive oxygen which is thereafter circulated around by blood. Vitamin E in it will keep your heart health reducing chances of heart disease.

Feeling good; serotonin levels in our body are what determine our moods. The compounds found in cocoa increase levels of serotonin and balance it for a contentment feeling and happiness all day. For this reason cocoa is considered to be aphrodisiac for men and women though this is a theory yet to be scientifically proven.

Brain function; an increase in brain activity is always beneficial to us in keeping us alert and lively. Cacao has the capability of increasing brain activity without any side effects such as headaches. It has the same effects with caffeine but it is better that caffeine which sometimes is credited for heart problems. Drinking it makes more health sense.

Fighting illness; one of the diseases that has indiscriminately faced all people across all countries and social classes is diabetes. This disease has left out no one spared, both the young and the old. There are foods that people living with diabetes have been told to really keep away from so as to better and not worsen their conditions. The people with this condition can benefit from cocoa tea because not only can they not increase blood sugar levels because it is not sweetened, it can also greatly improve cell function.

Antioxidants; cacao comes loaded with antioxidants compounds equivalent to those found in fruits, grains and vegetables. The use of antioxidants in our bodies is slowing down the aging process which most people don't like to be associated with. Cacao gives you higher antioxidants than that in green tea or in red wine. This tea will give you almost same amount of antioxidants to those in blueberries.

Some other health benefits on this drink are yet to be found out and are many. A byproduct which was thrown away in the past is now being used to better our health. It is recommended to have cocoa tea always in your kitchen for a happy life and good health.
