How To Develop An Iron Will

By Evan Sanders

When we truly believe in ourselves, what we are up to in the world, and what our deep purpose is, there is hardly anything that can knock us off of our course.

But it's when we start to fashion our lives around the opinions of others and their compliments as well that we put ourselves in a very precarious position. The foundation of our life isn't shaky because the opinions of others are often morphing and shifting. And when life does its thing, which it always does, we suffer the consequences of not building a strong foundational character.

If you want to be yourself in this world you also have to have some thick skin.

People on the outside are always looking to tear others down. It's much easier to say something negative than it is to say something positive. Also, people don't like seeing others succeed and become great at what they do. They hate it because it shines a light on their failures in life and the fact that they never made it to where they wanted to go.

So what's the solution to all of this?

We have got to trust in ourselves.

The journey of building internal belief is one of the greatest challenges there is. There are so many people out there trying to tell you that you can't do it that it becomes very easy to believe that you actually can't. The world is full of people who are always hating on you trying to belittle you in any way possible.

For all of these reasons, it's important that you make changes in your life for yourself and for no other reason. Change because you want something for yourself and you believe in what you're up to. Don't change for any other reason than that.

Then, when you get to the end of the line, you'll always be able to claim that you kept true to yourself no matter what. To me, that sounds like a pretty happy life.

So believe in yourself enough to go for your dreams and goals. You are capable of anything if you listen to your heart.
