Finding Stunning Texas Wedding Venues

By Abijah A. Mayer

When getting married, there is a long list of things one must do and consider in order to make the special day perfect and memorable. There are so many details to cover such as the date, color themes, floral preference, music, guests, and location. Choosing which of the gorgeous Texas wedding venues would be best suited to one's unique vision is perhaps one of the most important decisions a couple will have to make throughout the entire process.

There are many incredibly wonderful places throughout this state, that are absolutely perfect for couples to begin their lives together. From traditional churches to lovely country resorts, outdoor gardens to restored French Colonial chapels, rustic barns to upscale modern hotels, and breathtaking beaches to European styled castles, something can be found to suit all tastes. Each one showcases a unique aspect of the beauty of this region.

Along with what the bride and groom will wear, the event facility is an especially important decision. As this is a monumental occasion for the couple, it should be extra special to create memories to treasure for a lifetime. Personal requirements, vision, style, budget, impression, appearance, and location are just a few of the factors that can influence this choice.

Other things can also influence where the event occurs. Among these are matters such as convenience, religion, sentiment, and the simply being drawn to a particular location, or setting. In general, things go more smoothly when the reception is held on the same property as the ceremony, or at least a maximum of only thirty miles apart.

The process begins by first amassing a list of possible locations to consider, at least one year prior to the chosen date of ceremony, to allow for the most efficient planning. Recommendations may come from multiple sources such as friends, family, personal event planner, colleagues, websites, and specialty publications. Many houses of worship are often have reception halls that are available to those who choose to be married there.

The first thing that might take a lot of facilities off of the list is whether they are even able to accommodate the date, or general time period, one has chosen to be married. Many locations will have availability calendars on their website, or one might find it more efficient to call and discuss details. Some places book multiple events on the same day, so if this is undesirable, that one may need to be removed.

The list will grow even smaller as one starts inquiring into any special restrictions such as closing times, additional fees for provisions, smoking and alcohol policies, parking, lighting, furniture, and if decorations are included. Verification on special factors like catering, cake designer, dance floor, DJ or live band accommodations, and other personal requests. If planning an outside event, it would be advisable to see if there are contingencies for inclement weather.

Money is another component to this aspect of event planning. No matter how wonderful the place may be, it is best to be realistic and contain one's choice to those facilities that fit within a reasonably affordable budget. Finances, location, provisions, accommodations, and timing, are all factors involved in choosing where to make such a treasured memory.
