Velvet Verses Leatherette Alex Velvet USA Jewelry Displays

By Stephen Fox

Choosing the right jewelry displays sounds trivial, but the impact of your sales with your ornaments on the right display can be huge. Before even deciding between velvet ornaments displays and leatherette ornaments displays, you need to know that these are never mixed. Mixed displays, whether it is styles or colors detract from your ornaments, and unless you are selling the Alex Velvet USA jewelry Displays themselves, this would cause you to lose sales.

You want to attract the customer's eye to the ornaments and not the display. The ornaments display is there to draw the customers eye to your ornaments. If your customer points out how great your exhibits are, then you are doing something wrong.

So where would you find these items to display your handcrafted items? Many times, you can find suppliers online with a simple search term. It could also be advantageous to comparison shop before making any decision. Some will offer retail while others will offer wholesale to both jewelers and ornaments stores.

The box needs to simply bring their attention to your ornaments. Higher quality ornaments needs to be displayed in higher quality boxes such as Rosewood or Leatherette style boxes. Displaying your ornaments using ornaments boxes also increases sales of lower end ornaments. Usually, cotton filled ornaments boxes are sufficient here.

But to give particular affects use colors such as Black Glossy, Cocoa Boxes or Kraft Ornaments Boxes. These draw the customers eye better than plain white. Also, make sure the cotton filled boxes you purchase are made in the USA and not thin paperboard. There are too many Chinese made cotton boxes on the market today, avoid those as you do not want your ornaments displayed in a poorly looking box. Doing so obviously ruins the entire affect.

When first setting up your ornaments in exhibits and boxes test different ideas. Setups vary according to the type of store you have. So don't be afraid to move and change things around to determine what works best for you.

Stay with the same color exhibits. You can have different sections of your store in different color exhibits, however always separate different colors. Onyx ornaments may look great on white, pink or gray exhibits, but put it on black and it could look lost. However, silver ornaments looks great on black exhibits, so create a separate area away from the white, pink or gray onyx exhibits.

With jewelry display set ups, as with anything, test, and change according to the results. Also, every couple of months change your exhibits, either move them around or purchase new and different exhibits. You will be surprised at how simply changing a few exhibits, and their locations increase business. It gives your store a fresh look, and that will attract repeat customers.
