By Daniel Hamilton

Christians have different beliefs which are based on the doctrines their various religious leaders teach them. Some people go to church on Saturdays because they believe that this is the day which was ordained by God. They thus start worshipping on Friday evening when the sun sets up to Saturday evening when the sun sets again. The Christians who worship on Saturday follow the Jewish faith. Other Christians worship on Sundays. Sunday worshippers are not very strict like Saturday worshippers. Below are various facts about Churches that Observe the Sabbath Winnipeg has.

According to the creation story on Genesis, God created the world for six days. After completing the creation work, God rested on the seventh day, which was Saturday. Therefore, God anointed and blessed this day. He then set it aside for worship. Which is why Saturday keepers believe that this day is anointed and ordained by the Supreme Being.

Also, during the times of Moses, this servant of God was given the noble duty of leading the Israelites. The leader went to Mt. Sinai, where he was given commandments that all people were supposed to adhere to. Of the Ten Commandments, the fourth one commanded people to keep the Sabbath. Hence, every person was supposed to work throughout the week and rest on this anointed and holy day.

Jesus was nailed to the cross on Friday and arose on the third day which is also called the first day of the week. When logic is used, Sunday becomes the first day of the week. Also, the women who planned to anoint Jesus waited until the end of the holy day, Saturday, to buy the spices they needed. They then headed towards the tomb early on Sunday morning only to find the tomb empty.

When Jesus was on earth, He observed the holy as well. This is why most believers have continued to keep Saturday Holy because the almighty one also rested and worshipped on this day. The priests and scribes learned a lot from Jesus at the synagogue during this day of worship.

The apostles were left with the work of spreading the word of God to non-believers. Paul was very vigilant and ensured that many people were saved. He also had a custom of worshipping on Saturday, like Jesus. Hence, most believers follow the footsteps of this apostle as well as the other apostles.

Some worshippers are stronger than others. Some restrain from doing all sorts of duties on the holy day. However, due to the changing world, the faith of most people has been affected by technology. Also, some people tend to work all days in a week so that they can cater to their needs. Thus, some worshippers only go to church for a few hours.

Debates are all over regarding which day should be kept holy. However, Sabbath believers believe they are on the right track because of the evidence the Bible has provided them with. Those who go to church on Sunday also have their beliefs which make them worship on this day.
