Free Divorce Records Online Access

By Claire Dowell

Once all issues concerning a divorce case are settled, a divorce file must be created by the county Clerk of Court handling the case. Oklahoma does not have a state repository, so you have to visit a Clerk of Court if you want to get your hands on Divorce Records Oklahoma. The state's Department of Health offers assistance to those who do not have a clue where the files they want to get can be found. You can place your request at the department and the department will relay them to the specific county that maintains the said files.

You will experience little to no problems if you want to obtain your own divorce documents. Same can be said to your or your partner's lawyer, your respective immediate relatives, and members of the law enforcement that intend to access your documents. If you want to obtain the documents of other individuals, you have to state a valid reason why you want to do so. If the court is content with your reason, you will be given access to the documents but only to the basic details of it.

People have different agendas for wanting to obtain divorce files. If you want to marry someone now but you got involved in another marriage in the past, you have to provide a copy of your divorce files if you want to secure a marriage license. If you are getting into a relationship and things are getting pretty serious, you can conduct a background check on your partner by viewing their divorce files. Divorce files can also be used if you want to claim the assets and liabilities of your recent failed marriage.

To begin a search, you must provide at least the name of either the husband or the wife and the time and place where the divorce was granted. You also need to provide some personal information about you like your name, address, and contact number. There is a corresponding fee for getting the records and the amount depends on which county they are stored. All fees rendered are non-refundable regardless of the results of the search.

Since the dawn of the Internet, a lot of things have turned digital and that includes getting divorce records. There are online service providers that specialize in proving such records to the public, upon request. Various service providers have emerged but, unfortunately, not all are legit. You have to do your own background checks on these service providers so that you will know which one you can actually use.

There are two types of search tools you can find: free and fee-based search tools. Fee-based search tools can get you a comprehensive set of information for a certain fee. But if you just want to know the basic pieces of information about a divorce case, use the free ones. Free Divorce Records are available if you just know where to find. And if you do not know where to start searching, look for one that will allow you to do a nationwide search.
