What Does The Resurrected Babylonian Head Signify?

By Donna Watson

All the books that give an account of end times have several verses reserved for the antichrist. Different words and descriptions are used with the most common being the dragon or beast. In the narrative by Daniel, he mentions it in his story on the seventieth week. The best person to refer to on the story of the resurrected Babylonian head is John the Apostle. He uses both the Revelation and his three letters to pass the message.

Revelation 13 makes the first and significant mention. Satan is described as having seven heads and ten horns. He makes six subsequent appearances with the seven being the ultimate. The beast narrated is construed to represent both a kingdom or empire and a person or king. This is so considering the impossibility of a kingdom existing without a ruler and further more, rulers create kingdoms.

The empire beast appears from the seas or nations of the earth. This was meant to represent some kingdoms that have ruled the world including Egypt, Syria, Rome, Greece and Persia, among others. These kingdoms were always used to punish Israelis by God for such acts as idolatry. These empires have always wanted to cut the linkage of Judah and Israel in general. The final show will be the moment the empire declares the end of Israel and install its own reign.

The description of the beast given in verse 3 chapter 13 is that of a fatal wound that has already healed. This is the mark that will cause adoration considering that heroes are celebrated because of their triumph. It is chapter 17 that gives a better explanation including the woman mentioned alongside this dragon.

Chapter seventeen on verse eight gives the account of death and resurrection of the beast. This is what makes the beast to appear more of a person than a kingdom or empire. However, the challenge is in the death and resurrection since this is an uncommon occurrence. This can only happen if the world conspires to cheat. However, is it possible for God to kill and later cause a tyrant king to resurrect?

The book of Thessalonians gives a possible scenario where God can allow the beast to resurrect. It can only be for the purpose of delusion. It says that God will send the people a strong delusion such that they believe in the lie. This happens because they failed to believe in the truth. The act of rising will cause amazement leading to adoration of this beast. In essence, the antichrist has taken over and is about to rule the world through deceit.

Six kingdoms have already ruled the earth with focus being on the seventh. According to the bible, its reign will be three and a half short years. Chapter seventeen between verse nine and eleven says that this king will die and later rise as the eighth. This will be the tyrannical and ultimate antichrist rule.

Is there a possibility that the seventh and eventual eighth beast is the Islamic empire? What is clear is that it-the antichrist, shall proclaim death to anyone who does not follow his declarations. It will rule with an iron fist and cause untold destruction. The only people who will be safe are those who believe in the lamb.
