No More Excuses - Encourage Yourself Right now

By Hal Neff

You may already know that motivation is one of the keys that determine success or failure. But just knowing does not make it any simpler to gain determination. If you feel that you are experiencing difficulty effectively motivating yourself, it is time for you to act. Not tomorrow, but today.

Finding your motivation is something personal. The best way to find motivation is to examine your options and discover something that works for you.

Look at the following ways to motivate yourself today:

1 . Avoid just going through the motions. One of the reasons you may find it hard to do everyday responsibilities is that you get bored. Naturally you are going to stay away from something that you find tedious! You can beat this mentality by adding some depth to your thinking while you're engaging in responsibilities you dislike.

* Brainstorm strategies that you could complete the work in a more effective way. Then you could compete with yourself to observe how rapidly you are able to finish the task in the future. The faster you get it done, the earlier you can move on to bigger and better things!

2 . Get spiritual. Do not be scared to get in touch with your own spiritual side. Lots of people find it highly motivating! When you find out some answers to life's difficult questions, it provides you clarity, and you might become more likely to work harder to achieve your own desires.

3. Set a goal. You may lack enthusiasm because you don't have a goal. When you aren't even sure what you're working towards, you will have difficulty discovering determination.

* If you have a large goal, break up the goal into a number of small , attainable tasks and set each task as a separate goal. This helps you maintain motivation because you are continuously reaching your goals. You will see the outcomes of your hard work!

4. Hold yourself accountable. In order to ensure that you do not stray from your chosen route, assess your own progress every week or even each day. Determine how you can do better the next week.

* If you find that it is hard to keep yourself accountable, don't be scared to ask for help. You may enjoy having other people check up on you to make sure you stay on task.

5. Think positive thoughts. Negative thinking and lack of motivation go hand in hand. You may enhance your motivation by concentrating on eliminating your negative thinking patterns. Replace negative feelings with optimism and positive thoughts and images.

* When you find yourself feeling down, make an extra effort to seek the silver lining. It is always there. If you take the time to look hard enough, you will find it.

6. Make a change. If you think you have tried everything and you still can't get motivated, perhaps you should consider a life change. Maybe there's a reason why you are feeling this way.

* If you don't feel inspired to work toward your own major life goals, consider a few alternatives that may be more in line with your true desires.

* If you're having trouble finding enthusiasm for everyday duties, see if you could find a way to hire some help.

Always keep in mind that "the time is now. " Put procrastination into your past and you will feel happy and accomplished at the end of the day, instead of stressed out or regretful.

When you're encouraged, life is more rewarding. Use these techniques to wake up your motivation and enjoy the difference!
