Answering The Question Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim

By Angela Briggs

Will the Antichrist be a Muslim is a question that has been asked by numerous individuals over the years. People think this is the case for a variety of reasons. Some find logic in this theory because of the hatred many Muslims have for Christians, as evidenced in their writings. Obviously, based on his name alone, the anti-christ has this same hatred for those who embrace Christianity.

There are various religions in the world, some of which are peaceloving. Certain men and women have even stated that Islam is a religion of peace. Unfortunately, it clearly states in the Koran that the philosophy behind the religion is "convert or kill." Many people take this as proof that Muslims' religion is not associated with too many actions that would be considered peaceloving.

The Muslims' hatred of Jews is also associated with a complicated and lengthy history. Numerous theologians trace this conflict back to Isaac and Ishmael, the sons of Abraham by his wife Sarah and a concubine, respectively. In the Bible, it is clearly stated that the antichrist will target Jews, and this pattern seemingly applies to Jews and Muslims in today's world.

The immense hatred of the Jewish race began with Mohammed. The latter claimed that Allah gave the command that Jews were evil and should be so treated. Many followers of Mohammed in that day embraced this philosophy. Numerous experts state that this hatred is merely because the Jews rejected Mohammed as their leader. Obviously, Christians do not worship Mohammed either. Therefore, it is not difficult to see why many individuals believe that the Antichrist may indeed be a Muslim.

Mohammed also claimed that the Jewish race in general was made up of greedy individuals. Christians on the other hand state that Jews are God's chosen race, and for this reason have favor with God above those from other ethnic backgrounds. Mohammed's theory about Jews being selfish individuals is strange, as history has proven that in his early days, Mohammed himself directed his followers to raid caravans and plunder villages to gather spoils in the name of Allah. He reportedly retained 20 percent of these confiscated goods and money for himself.

In addition, violence is often promoted by the religion of Islam. Although some would disagree, this cannot be refuted if one reads the Koran. For instance, in Sura 9:5, it is written that wherever "idolaters" are found they should be killed. Naturally, idolaters are considered those who refuse to accept Islam's God. This is probably what causes numerous individuals to think that the Antichrist is a Muslim.

Those who have studied eschatology do not always agree about end time events. Some believe that an Antichrist who seems like an All-American individual will appear and deceive virtually everyone. Others believe that his sinister motives will be obvious, and therefore numerous individuals will not be fooled. In the Bible we find that God says this person would attempt to deceive even the "elect" if it were possible.

Individuals asking will the Antichrist be a Muslim are probably not going to have a definitive answer to this query until the unfolding of various end time events begins. Numerous men and women believe that this time is close at hand, but others believe we are a long way off from the rapture and subsequent tribulation. We will have to wait and see which theories are correct, and from where the anti-christ will eventually emerge.
