Most of the times many people invite or are invited to share a meal with friends or family. Dining rules and etiquette guide plays an important role in making good impression and makes one feel comfortable. They signal state of the manners of a person. Here are some of tips of fine restaurant rules and etiquette.

Fine dining restaurants are strict about dress code. Most of this meetings held are formal so this makes formal dressing the most accepted. When you are not sure about the dress code of a particular restaurant it is good to call the establishment. This will give the confidence needed when going to that particular event.

When dining in fine restaurants the table set up is different from the regular restaurants. They are set with silverware and table napkins. You use the silverware with the type of meal you are having. For instance meat knives are set on the right side. Knives forks and spoons are the main silver ware and their function varies. Doing a little study on how they are used will add your confidence in using them.

Always be kind and polite to the people who are serving you. Say please when you need assistance and thank you after you have been assisted. Do not shout when you want to call the person serving you. This will inconvenience other people in the dining room. If there is a problem with the meal or service do not scold or get angry at the service person explain the problem without causing any scene. It is good to leave a tip.

When time to eat has started be sure to use the best manners. Do not eat with your mouth open or talk while you have food in the mouth. It is good to start eating when everyone has started. Do not eat with your hands. Eat at the same rate as your hosts or guests. Sit upright and do not place your elbows on the table. Eat slowly and mindful of sauces and potential mess.

Excuse yourself any time you want to go visit the washrooms. Leaving the table without excusing yourself will bring a bad impression. Do not blow your nose in the dining. It is good to leave the table and do it in the rest rooms. Use the napkin anytime you want to cough or sneeze.

There are the general rules and etiquette that include making sure that the cell phone is in silent mode avoiding talking loud not smoking in the dining area. Other general rules are arriving in time preferably ten minutes before time. If it is a business meeting the materials for the meeting should be placed under the chair until the discussion time comes.
