Tips On Making Rhinestone Earrings

By Georgia Diaz

Rhinestone earrings are very beautiful. They make wonderful presents for the people you love. The reason why ladies love them is because they shine just like diamonds only that they are cheaper. They are relatively easy to make if you have the time and the necessary materials. There are many designs you can create. They range from stud to chandelier earrings. Only your imagination and your budget can limit the designs you can come up with.

You need to buy many rhinestones for the exercise. You can either find several large stones or many small ones. To get the pieces together you need a good adhesive. Choose the kind of design you want to come up with. If you are making a stud you can choose a large piece for the middle section and several small ones to form a circle around it.

Another way is to pick a square stone and place different colored stones in the center of that bigger square one. To ensure that the pieces stick together it is important to use hot glue. If your design involves several stones you should begin with the biggest. Add the small pieces to the large one after you have applied glue.

Ensure that you use enough glue. Allow enough time for it to dry if you want your earring to hold together for long. Wipe out all the glue that you do not need. If you want to make earrings that dangle from the ears you should follow different steps. You need to find a wire as well as more stones.

Begin by joining one banded row on the middle of a wire made from metal. Use the beads to determine the length of your earring. If you have to change the size this is the right stage to do that. Use the proper adhesive to put everything in position. If you want to create tapered ends cut the sides down. If you want to maintain a constant length then you do not have to change anything.

Add more rows on the sides of the wire until you get to the edge. Add another row of banded rhinestones on the top section of the metal wire. If you need to make the earring appear fuller you should add smaller pieces on the sides. At the back of the earring add glue and press against the rhinestones and wire. Get rid of any excess glue.

It is advisable to use flat-back rhinestones when making an earring. This is because it easy to apply glue on these stones. They are also available in a wide range of colors. Choosing the right adhesive is very important. If you choose the wrong glue your earring might fall apart after some time. Clean surfaces that need glue applied on them. It is also important to place rhinestones on areas that are dry and clean.

Pick any metal for the back side of the earring. It is important to cover the metal with the rhinestones. By following the steps properly you should come up with perfect rhinestone earrings. These jewels resemble diamonds but they are way cheaper and fun to make.
