Candi Depauw lives in Houston Texas. When growing up, her parents saw to it that she got strong morals and work ethics. She is caring, honest, understanding and fair and trustworthy person. As a small girl, she grew up in Texas and later relocated to NY following the job transfer of her father. She went to school in Scarsdale High and graduated before going back to Houston. She went to Wisconsin University, stayed there for 2 years and then transferred to Texas A & M University. Being the second lady to be admitted to the school, very female students were very few even by the time she completed. This, however, did not keep her from completing her studies.
In 1968, she got married and moved with her husband to Houston. She joined University of Houston where she completed her undergraduate degree. She was studying B. S. In Sociology and Political Science. Later her young family moved once more and settled in Fort Collins Colorado where pursued further studies and graduated with a Masters of Agriculture in Horticulture. After this she moved to Half Moon Bay and began her career as a greenhouse manager.
In 1981, this lady left her greenhouse management job to join the manufacturing sector where she became a labor relations executive. She stayed there and worked in one of the leading firms in the city of Texas for a few years. The experience she gained over the years was to her advantage as she used it to open her own business.
She had a great desire in her to start her own business. She so much wanted to manage her own business that she eventually opened one. She began as a retail firm owner and after a few years, she expended the business to include landscaping services. This business did so well that even today, she is still a landscape operator.
Being an ambitious woman, she started Monterey County Ag Education Inc in which she plays an active role in its daily operations. In the same year she decided to become a Hartnell College trustee. According to her, this has turned out to be the most rewarding decisions she has ever made. She is hoping she will have a chance to continue serving as the representative for Area 7. She has offered candidature in the elections that will be held on November 5, 2013.
Over the years that she has been a trustee, she has gained a lot of experience in her work. Those who campaign for her say that she will still deliver quality services like she has always done before. Since she is a representative of private sectors, she acts as a good link between business people and the education center. The interests of the community and those of the college have always been entrusted to Candi.
Her contribution to Candi Depauw Hartnell College Trustee has made the institution stand on its financial feet. There are strategies put in place to see the college reach greater heights in future. Once these strategies are implemented, the surrounding communities will have a reason to smile.
