Useful Ideas For First Date Questions For Breaking The Tension

By Jamie Derivieres

Perhaps you are getting together a list of first date questions. After all, no one wants to sit in that awkward state of silence with nothing to say. Here are a few tips to consider that might help the evening run a little smoother.

One should not sit and ask a series of questions on an initial date. This can make the other person feel like they are being grilled or interviewed. Instead, think of several subjects ahead of time. You also might choose an article of clothing to talk about.

Know your new friend's interests before the big night out. This is what you should discuss. For instance, if a man is passionate about baseball, a woman can ask him why. She also can let him know that she is willing to learn all about the sport. When you encourage someone to discuss their passions, they usually have plenty to say.

If you want to engage in pleasant conversation, discuss the other person. Encourage him (her) to let you know more about his (her) life, but do not get too personal. Whenever you get off subject, bring the focus back to the other person, without being too obvious.

When you find that you are uneasy and not sure what to say, talk about your uneasiness. For example, a man might state that beautiful women make him nervous and he finds it difficult to engage them in conversation. She might appreciate the compliment and help him become more at ease.

To get over difficult times talk about those moments and it can be the start of an interesting conversation. You really do not need a long list of first date questions if you avoid talking about yourself too much. The more you listen the more relaxed your evening will be, and you will forget about being nervous.
