One of my favorite memories of growing up was of the day when I received my first communion, and I was so excited to participate in that important ritual, and I was even more delighted to be able to wear my brand new stunning communion dress. When I had my own children, I wanted them to have the same experience, and since my first two children were boys, I began to fear that I would never be able to find the perfect baptism dress until I learned that I was going to have a daughter.
This certainly doesn't mean that my sons didn't participate in receiving their first communion, they just didn't wear a fluffy dress when they did. When my daughter was born, I was so eager to start shopping for a communion dress, but I was able to exercise a tiny bit of self control, as I knew I would need to wait until she was the right age so I would know what size she would need and make sure the dress would fit her right and look perfect on her.
Well, life continued on as it always does, and I as the years passed, I gave birth to another son who I was disappointed to realize would also not be wearing a fluffy dress for his communion. Eventually, I realized that it was time for my daughter to receive her first communion and began to eagerly prepare for it, scheduling the time, talking to the priest, and ensuring that she would understand what was going on and what her first communion would mean.
I did all of that first so that I would have more time to spend shopping for a communion dress and ensuring that it was going to be an incredibly memorable experience for my delightful little girl. It turned out though, that I didn't actually have to do very much searching because I was talking to a good friend one day and when I mentioned my search, she showed me the christening gown she had gotten for her baby that was just gorgeous.
My friend told me that while she had searched at a lot of different stores, she found what she was looking for online, so she showed me the website and told me that there was a great selection of communion dresses as well. I went online and looked at the website and I was delighted to see that she was right and that there was an incredible selection of dresses available, and I was finally able to settle on one dress that I knew would look gorgeous on my daughter and would help us all make some wonderful memories!
