I Was Told To Get My Paws On A Christening Gown And I Was Successful

By Hilma K. Keebler

Hearing that my beloved sister was going to be giving birth to twins was wonderful news and I made sure to tell her that I would do what I could to make the process easier for her, but I was surprised when all she asked me to do was buy a christening gown, a task that I performed admirably. We understood that twins were on the way, but it turned out that they were fraternal twins, which meant that there was only one gown that I needed to find, while the clothes for my new nephew were going to be taken care of by another family member.

Since both outfits would be white, there was no need to me to find a match in terms of ruffles or other frills, although I hoped he wouldn't be in something overly frilly. In my mind, I had envisioned a bunch of happy little christening gown stores that would be wonderful and amazing to visit, but when I went to find them, there were none to be found, which made me feel foolish and silly.

Disheartened, I drove my little car back home and figured that without an imaginary shop, the next best thing would be to get online and do an exhaustive search for what might be the perfect gown, but I didn't have a lot of confidence. I was astonished, then when I learned that there was a wonderful website that had a fantastic selection of gowns that were just part of a larger collection of white clothing for other kinds of religious events.

I browsed through the selection for a while and finally settled on a gown that I hoped my sister would like for her daughter, placing the order with a lot of faith and hope. When the package showed up on the doorstep, I took it out of the box and marveled at how completely lovely it looked and I could totally envision my tiny niece in the gown I had chosen.

When the twins were born, there was a lot of rejoicing from all of us in the family, and I got to see the newborns the day after they arrived and I must say that it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I took the gown to my sister once she was out of the hospital and she thought that it was just lovely and wonderful, telling me that I had done such a great job getting a gown in a small timeframe without any local shops!
